The former NHL-goalie Chris Osgood who currently works for Fox Sports Detroit on the broadcast side as a studio analyst and color commentator, now has become part of the ownership group of the OHL-team Saginaw Spirit.

According to the Detroit News, current senior vice president of the Detroit Red Wings Jim Devellano joined as part owner last week, and now the former Red Wings, Blues & Islanders-goalie Chris Osgood has realized his dream of becoming a part of the ownership-side of a Canadian junior league hockey team.

Osgood who got his ownership-link to the team while being a scout for the Red Wings was quoted saying, “This is a dream of mine to be involved in the Canadian Hockey League and junior hockey. When I was scouting for the Red Wings I spent quite a bit of time here in Saginaw and what I noticed is the fans are very passionate about hockey and we have to start winning some more games than we have in the past.”

Osgood also made his ambitions for the team and its standing in regards to the community well-known,“We need to get this community excited about hockey again and we truly believe with who we have brought on board, we can bring this team to the next level.”
